A Master Bedroom in Berkshire
The brief was to create a moody bedroom, that was both sexy and cosy. A space that felt fabulous but homely.
At Fitward & Hayton, we always decide on a colour scheme first, depending on how the client wants the room to feel.
The first decision then, was to paint the room dark. Using Farrow & Ball 'Railings' paint, it was important to make the room have an almost 'cocoon' feel, which is why we decided to paint the whole room, including the walls, skirting, coving, architraves, doors, and ceiling.
To add some decadence, this was then layered with bold colours and metallics.
A Living Room in Berkshire
Bold teal colours mixed with gold accents produce a really stunning colour palette.
The client wanted their living room to feel really calming, hence the decision to use a cool colour palette.
This was also the reason for the addition of the house plants, known to oxygenate the room.
Again, the whole room was painted in the same colour, including the walls, skirting, doors, architraves, cornices and ceiling.
This helps to make the room feel bigger, continuing the colour up the walls through to the ceiling.
A Snug in Berkshire
Previously used solely as a study, the client wanted another purpose for this room.
After a consultation, it was evident that the client needed somewhere to retreat after a long day.
It was important for the room to feel warm and cosy, yet serene.
A cool colour palette was decided on for the main room colour, but bronze, orange, and yellow tones were added for warmth.
A plethora of cushions on a day bed completed the sanctuary space.
